Kevin Stefanski answers to what former Titans HC Mike Vrabel will do for the Cleveland Browns

One of the Cleveland Browns’ biggest offseason additions was not by the way of a player being added to the roster.

Tennessee Titans and Mike Vrabel parting ways left the former Buckeye looking for a new spot. Being left out of this year’s head coaching search, Vrabel took an analyst role with the Browns essentially.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke on Tuesday about the addition of a head coach in this league who has had success joining the team.

“Yeah, coach (Mike Vrabel) Vrabes has been awesome having him up here for a few weeks this offseason. For me and for us, we’re just excited to add a really smart football person into our building,” Stefanski explained.

Vrabel spent the last six seasons as the head coach of the Titans where he tallied a 54-45 record. Vrabel is from Cuyahoga Falls in the Cleveland area and attended Ohio State from 1993-1996 where he became a third-round pick and played over a decade in the NFL.

“A guy who’s had success as a player, a guy who’s had success as a coach. He’s a huge resource for me, he’s a huge resource for Andrew (Berry) in different, in varying ways. The exact role, how it unfolds, that’s really up to him. And making sure that, I’m not asking too much of him, if you will, but I just don’t think you can have enough good people. I’ve been told you can’t have enough good Buckeyes as well.”

It wasn’t a move that was seen coming but the Browns are smart to have taken him on. Another coach with a winning pedigree added to the team is a plus anytime you can do it.
