Watch: Nyck De Vries reunites with ex-AlphaTauri teammate Yuki Tsunoda at the Tokyo E-Prix

Nyck de Vries, the former AlphaTauri (VCARB) F1 driver, since leaving the sport, has been making his trade in Formula E with Mahindra Racing. De Vries is currently in Tokyo for the ongoing E-Prix weekend and with the F1 Japanese GP also slated to take place in the country in the upcoming week, Yuki Tsunoda , has taken the time to meet his former teammate!

Ahead of the race, Yuki Tsunoda has been spotted sharing a hug with Nyck de Vries and also sharing a few pleasantries. The duo, during their short time together in F1, was considered as one of the most adorable driver pairings.

Moreover, keeping in view that an F1 driver was in the paddock for the Tokyo E-Prix, Tsunoda had a lot of cameras focused on him. Seeing the video courtesy of Mahindra Racing’s X handle, fans have not been able to hold their horses.

Fans from all over the globe, have come up with heartwarming reactions to Tsunoda and De Vries’s moment ahead of the Tokyo E-Prix. The latter started his outing around the Tokyo circuit from the twelfth place on the grid!

Yuki Tsunoda feeling ‘pretty confident’ ahead of Japanese GP

While Yuki Tsunoda has been spotted attending the Tokyo E-Prix, he is optimistic about producing a solid outing during next week’s Japanese Grand Prix. The 23-year-old is riding high on confidence since his sensational exploits around the Albert Park circuit.

Tsunoda managed a commendable sixth-place finish at the Australian GP.

I’m feeling pretty confident because the car is performing consistently since Bahrain. We were kind of lacking performance last year, some of the tracks were kind of disasters but so far this season we didn’t have it, we just consistently perform well so I’m sure we’ll perform well in Suzuka and other tracks as well. Yuki Tsunoda said in an interview with F1

The Japanese driver has made it known that he is pleased with how his 2024 season has panned out so far. In his opinion, the VCARB 01 is working well and is thus, allowing him to drive the car the way he wants! Suzuka is a track that is very well-known to Tsunoda and considering this, it will be fascinating to see how the young driver would perform in front of home support!
